'Picasso's', Doha's first Mediterranean Tapas Bar, opened its doors on Saturday 7th February. Located on the first floor of the East Wing, 'Picasso's' is open from 6pm daily.
Tapas is the name given to a range of appetizers in Spanish. These are served both hot and cold and should be enjoyed in a group of friends, family or colleagues along with drinks. "The serving of Tapas is thought to encourage conversation because people are not so much focused on eating an entire meal" says Robin Hawksworth, Food & Beverage Manager at the hotel.
The restaurant is named after world famous artist Pablo Picasso, the most famous of Andalusia's sons. Picasso was famous for his love of art and the Spanish lifestyle. His paintings and abstract outlook on his own life was full of passion and colour, with influences from Africa and Spain. Like Tapas itself the name reflects colour, art, life and conversation.
The restaurant serves an authentic and vibrant range of Tapas, both traditional and those given a twist to bring them into the present, capturing the tastes and smells of the Mediterranean. A wide selection of specially imported Spanish beverages and home made 'sangria's' are also on offer. |
